In collaboration with TR Makers Co, I am offering a mural class to all aspiring Junior Mural Painters! Come join us in creating an oversized piece of public art. During this half day event, you will learn how to measure and grid an exterior wall, sketch the design, open paints cans and start painting a large, bright welcoming mural in downtown Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
Ride your bike or come by foot, no matter how you get here, meet us by the new mural on Saturday, August 24th at 11a. We will be cutting the official ribbon marking the completion of our mural project and cheering with Popsicles! The mural is located along the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail in the greenspace down below our parking area, look for the pink and white umbrellas.
Thanks to artist Elizabeth Kinney, Kristin LaRoy and all the 2019 Mural Makers ages 5 and up who helped to paint this great work of art.
Nine day art competition and festival in historic downtown Lake City, South Carolina.
Up to 400 works of art will be on display in locally-owned venues, from renovated 1920s warehouses and professional art spaces such as Jones-Carter Gallery and TRAX Visual Art Center to the library, the history museum, the Ronald E. McNair Life History Center, restaurants, boutiques and other shops. During ArtFields, what was once one of South Carolina’s most prosperous agricultural communities becomes a living art gallery as we recognize, celebrate and share the artistic talent of the Southeast.
